A letter to young people

To each and all of you,

We are beginning this year with new challenges and Rotaract Club City Bell will open its doors in March again to be seen officially by the rest of the world. That is why, we are inviting you to join us and also because we believe that today, more than ever, each one should think that for this difficult and cruel reality the world is facing there is not ONE to blame, and it is also our responsibility to make it better. It is a difficult task, we know it, but altogether necessary as well...

If you want to help, to develop as a professional or a student and mainly as human being, it is the right time and place. However, let us tell you, this is not only a commitment to the ones who surround you, it is also a full commitment to yourself. Step by step, we will build the road towards a better day even when it might appear uncertain. Those who come after us shouldn’t pay for our own mistakes…

This may all seem utopian, but here we don't believe in impossible dreams... we DO believe in that boy's smile after we have played with him, in the peaceful look of grandma with whom we enjoyed spending more than one afternoon, and in the gratefulness of that family that survives because of people like you day by day... Come join us and together we will do something that will make a difference...

" Progress doesn't mean annihilating the past today; on the contrary, it consists in preserving the past essence that had the virtue of creating a better today." (José Ortega and Gasset)

Cancer World Day

Sunday, February 4th 2007: Cancer World Day

A surprising statistical fact: 43% of cancer cases can be prevented.

The Cancer World Day for Cancer has the determination to spread information and to share knowledge about stocks and technologies, from lifestyle behaviors to the vaccine against the virus that causes uterus cancer with the purpose of underlining the importance of prevention in the fight against cancer.

Centered in parents, professionals and those responsible for health politics, a world campaign is being carried out to this day, by sending messages with a common topic: prevent cancer in adults by promoting healthy behaviors and vaccination during the childhood.

It is urgent to increase the sensibility in the fight against cancer and to focus strategically in training, especially as regards prevention, diagnosis and treatment, with the purpose of producing behavioral changes. For more information on this illness and its prevention, enter:
